You can click/tap on the X to close (exit) dictation when finished. When you see dictation listening, you can start talking to type with your voice. Place your cursor in any text field either in Windows 10 or in an app, press the Windows Logo Key + H keys. On the touch keyboard, select the microphone button.' Microsofts built-in instructions state, 'Press the Windows Logo Key + H to start dictation.
